Sandvik Coromant Automotive Seminar 2007 Sandvik Coromant, one of the world's leading suppliers of machine tools and manufacturing solutions, hosted its Automotive Seminar 2007 in Sweden, 11-14 September 2007. The Seminar was provided for a small invitation-only group of key decision makers from the leading automotive OEMs based in France, Germany, Italy and the United States. As one of only four external presenters, Dr Steve Dawson, President & CEO, presented the production, application and market development of Compacted Graphite Iron. Two of the four external presentations were related to CGI, with the second CGI presentation provided by Makino focusing on CGI cylinder boring. The emphasis on CGI in this industry-leading Seminar reflected the current interests and development needs of the automotive OEMs and the prominent position that CGI has gained in new engine programmes.

GIFA 2007 SinterCast participated at GIFA 2007, 12-16 june, the world's leading trade fair, held every fourth year at Messe Düsseldorf. SinterCast co-exhibited with its industrial partners, ABP Induction and Ashland Casting Solutions, displaying series production CGI cylinder blocks and an interactive System 2000 demonstration. The GIFA event was largely attended by SinterCast's customers, current development partners, and potential CGI foundries and end-users. As expected, the GIFA meetings provided an excellent opportunity to discuss current business activities with over 250 invited guests and to establish new contacts. In particular, SinterCast's GIFA participation helped to broaden and deepen SinterCast's business efforts in the rapidly growing Asian market. During the coming weeks and months, SinterCast will follow-up on each contact, with a goal toward securing new System 2000 installation opportunities and CGI series production commitments.

AFS CastExpo 2005 SinterCast participated in the 109th American Foundry Society (AFS) CastExpo in St. Louis, MO, 16-19 April 2005, together with its technology partners, Ashland Casting Solutions and ABB Process Industries. The CastExpo provided an opportunity for SinterCast to meet its current Customers and also to establish new contacts. Together with Ashland, SinterCast was approached to test the CGI-specific mould coatings that are currently being jointly developed, and four separate field trials have been agreed. Detailed discussions were also held regarding the test and installation of the joint SinterCast-ABB technology for fully automated CGI production from pressurised pouring furnaces. These new contacts will lead to additional CGI trials and series production installations.
