Mini-System 3000
The Mini-System 3000 is based on a standard System 3000 Operator Control Module, housing the main process computer, measurement electronics and the Operator display screen. The Mini-System 3000 provides a simplified Sampling Mechanism for mounting the Sampling Cup, together with a standard Operator Box and Lighthouse to enable the Operator to interact with the system.

The Mini-System 3000 does not include a wirefeeder. Where necessary, the foundry can source a separate wirefeeder and manually input the corrective additions of magnesium and/or inoculant wire that are displayed on the result screen.

User-Friendly
The Mini-System 3000 uses simple Green-Yellow-Red light signals to communicate with the Operator. All display screens are provided in the local language. Measurement results for Modification (Mg) and Inoculation are presented as simple histogram values ranging from 0 to 100. Operator training time is typically 2-3 days.

Accuracy
The Mini-System 3000 uses the same sampling technology and analysis software as the full System 3000. All CGI product calibrations developed with the Mini-System 3000 can be directly transferred to the fully automated System 3000 to provide continuity from product development to series production.

Software Access - Independent Control
Foundry supervisors have full access to the SinterCast software menus. This access allows the foundry to independently develop and calibrate new products and to modify parameters to suit their in-house production. The software access is provided via an industry standard serial port.

Documentation
The Mini-System 3000 uses the same Operator and Supervisor manuals as the fully automated System 3000. Although the Mini-System does not provide all of the functionality or fully automated System 3000, the description of the Sampling procedure and metallurgical analysis are common to both systems.
